The MSI MAG 255F X24 is a 24.5-inch Full HD gaming monitor built around a 240Hz Rapid IPS panel with a 0.5ms GtG response time. It targets competitive players who want every frame of advantage without giving up colour quality or viewing angles. Moreover, with 90% DCI-P3 coverage, AMD FreeSync Premium and MSI’s AI Navigator feature set, it brings genuinely useful gaming tools rather than just a high number on the box.

240Hz Rapid IPS on the MSI MAG 255F X24

Rapid IPS is MSI’s fast-transition IPS technology, and here it runs at a full 240Hz. That puts the MSI MAG 255F X24 in genuine esports territory, where the gap between 144Hz and 240Hz translates into smoother tracking and earlier information on screen. Because IPS handles colour and viewing angles far better than the TN panels that used to dominate high refresh rates, you no longer trade picture quality for speed. For first-person shooters, fighting games and racing sims, that combination is exactly what you want.

0.5ms GtG Response for Clean Motion

A 0.5ms grey-to-grey minimum response time keeps pixel transitions ahead of the refresh cycle, so moving objects stay defined instead of smearing. As a result, you can read enemy movement during fast strafes and quick camera turns rather than guessing at a blur. Combined with 240Hz, the panel delivers the kind of motion clarity that competitive players actually notice in game, not just in test patterns.

AI Navigator with AI Crosshair and AI Vision

MSI’s AI Navigator adds two tools that run on the monitor itself, so they work in any game without software installed. AI Crosshair places an aim dot on screen that automatically changes colour as the background behind it shifts, which solves the old problem of a crosshair disappearing against a matching wall or sky. Meanwhile AI Vision lifts detail out of dark areas while raising overall brightness and saturation, so opponents hiding in shadow become visible. Both toggle from the five-way Navi Key on the back.

90% DCI-P3 Wide Colour Coverage

The panel covers 90% of the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut and renders 1.07 billion colours through 8-bit plus FRC processing. Therefore game art, video and photos show richer, more saturated tones than a standard sRGB-only display manages. Brightness reaches 300 cd/m² in SDR, while the anti-glare surface cuts reflections from windows and ceiling lights. The monitor also accepts HDR content and adjusts contrast and shadow detail accordingly, although genuine HDR impact depends on brightness, so treat it as a bonus rather than the main attraction.

AMD FreeSync Premium from 48Hz to 240Hz

FreeSync Premium locks the refresh rate to whatever your graphics card is actually producing across a wide 48Hz to 240Hz range. Consequently screen tearing and stutter disappear, and low framerate compensation keeps things smooth even when your frame rate drops during heavy scenes. So a mid-range build that cannot sustain 240fps still benefits, which matters far more in practice than the headline number does.

MSI MAG 255F X24 Console Mode and Connectivity

Two HDMI 2.0b inputs and one DisplayPort 1.2a input all carry Full HD at the full 240Hz, so you can keep a PC and a console connected without swapping cables. MSI Console Mode uses built-in HDMI CEC, which means a PlayStation or Switch controller can wake the display and switch between tuned picture modes. Variable refresh rate works through Console Mode as well, keeping console play tear-free. A 3.5mm headphone output handles audio, and a Kensington lock slot secures the monitor in shared spaces.

Anti-Flicker and Less Blue Light

Anti-Flicker removes the invisible backlight pulsing that builds into headaches and eye strain across a long session. In addition, Less Blue Light reduces emission in the blue-violet part of the spectrum, which helps during late-night play and study. Together they let you stay at the desk for longer stretches without your eyes giving out before your reflexes do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MSI MAG 255F X24 worth it over a 144Hz or 165Hz monitor?

For competitive play, yes. Moving from 165Hz to 240Hz cuts the time between frames meaningfully, and the Rapid IPS panel keeps motion clean at that speed. Do bear in mind that you need a graphics card capable of pushing high frame rates in your games to see the full benefit.

Can I reach 240Hz over HDMI?

Yes. Both HDMI 2.0b ports and the DisplayPort 1.2a port support 1920 x 1080 at up to 240Hz. An HDMI cable is included in the box, while a DisplayPort cable is sold separately. Remember to select 240Hz in your display settings after connecting.

Does the MSI MAG 255F X24 work with NVIDIA cards?

It works with any graphics card. MSI certifies the monitor for AMD FreeSync Premium, so Radeon users get guaranteed variable refresh rate. GeForce owners can enable adaptive sync through the NVIDIA control panel, although MSI does not list official G-SYNC Compatible certification for this model.

Is it good for PS5 and Xbox Series X?

Yes, through MSI Console Mode, which supports HDMI CEC and variable refresh rate. Note that this is a 1080p display, so it will not output 4K. For high frame rate 1080p console play it works very well.

Does this monitor have speakers?

No. There are no built-in speakers, but a 3.5mm headphone output lets you connect a headset or desk speakers directly to the display.

Can the stand be adjusted for height?

The included stand offers tilt only, from -5° to 20°. However, the panel supports the standard 100 x 100mm VESA pattern and weighs 3.24kg, so a monitor arm is a straightforward upgrade if you want height, swivel or pivot adjustment.

What is the price of MSI MAG 245F X24 – 24″ 240Hz Gaming Monitor in Nepal?

The price of MSI MAG 255F X24 – 24.5″ FHD 240Hz Rapid IPS Monitor in Nepal is NPR 34,999. You can purchase MSI MAG 255F X24 – 24.5″ FHD 240Hz Rapid IPS Monitor from Backseatgaming.co with 1 year warranty.

  1. visionpeer –

The monitor is just what you’d expect. 240 Hz, the stock HDMI cable is able to handle it just fine, but if you want GSync (via NVIDIA app) and variable refresh rate you’ll need a DP wire, which doesn’t come with the monitor. Also the monitor doesn’t have speakers, not the end of the world but this XF model doesn’t have a speaker but it does have a 3.5 mm jack.

This is a good monitor if you are into competitive games.
